Narrative:

We were on the boids 9 arrival to dfw. We departed boids international (bpr 108 degree right/13 DME), heading 100 degree, and were given instructions to intercept the dfw ILS 13R localizer and descend to 5000'. We were switched to frequency 118.1 and were told to 'fly 090 degree and intercept the localizer 13R - maintain 4000'.' descending through 4300', we were told that 5000' was the assigned altitude and that we were in conflict with an light transport at 12 O'clock. Both aircraft had visual contact with the other and no evasive action was necessary. Both the captain and myself, as well as another pilot in the jumpseat are positive we were assigned 4000.' when we first came up on frequency 118.1, the controller gave rapid-fire instructions for 1 or 2 other aircraft in different phases of approach to maintain 4000.' he followed immediately with our instructions and made the quite understandable error of assigning 4000' again when he meant 5000.' he was quite busy at the time. I don't believe minimum sep standards were violated as we both had visual contact.

Narrative: WE WERE ON THE BOIDS 9 ARRIVAL TO DFW. WE DEPARTED BOIDS INTL (BPR 108 DEG R/13 DME), HEADING 100 DEG, AND WERE GIVEN INSTRUCTIONS TO INTERCEPT THE DFW ILS 13R LOC AND DSND TO 5000'. WE WERE SWITCHED TO FREQ 118.1 AND WERE TOLD TO 'FLY 090 DEG AND INTERCEPT THE LOC 13R - MAINTAIN 4000'.' DSNDING THROUGH 4300', WE WERE TOLD THAT 5000' WAS THE ASSIGNED ALT AND THAT WE WERE IN CONFLICT WITH AN LTT AT 12 O'CLOCK. BOTH ACFT HAD VISUAL CONTACT WITH THE OTHER AND NO EVASIVE ACTION WAS NECESSARY. BOTH THE CAPT AND MYSELF, AS WELL AS ANOTHER PLT IN THE JUMPSEAT ARE POSITIVE WE WERE ASSIGNED 4000.' WHEN WE FIRST CAME UP ON FREQ 118.1, THE CTLR GAVE RAPID-FIRE INSTRUCTIONS FOR 1 OR 2 OTHER ACFT IN DIFFERENT PHASES OF APCH TO MAINTAIN 4000.' HE FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY WITH OUR INSTRUCTIONS AND MADE THE QUITE UNDERSTANDABLE ERROR OF ASSIGNING 4000' AGAIN WHEN HE MEANT 5000.' HE WAS QUITE BUSY AT THE TIME. I DON'T BELIEVE MINIMUM SEP STANDARDS WERE VIOLATED AS WE BOTH HAD VISUAL CONTACT.
