Narrative:

I was flying VFR on a 45 min trip. I was not apprised of any power plants on my briefing. I was not aware of said plant along my route of flight. I was squawking 1200. Upon landing ZZZ, us, I was contacted by the county sheriff and told I had violated power plant airspace. I showed the sheriff my credentials and he said that he would inform the FAA. I apologized for this inconvenience and will file IFR flight plan henceforth.
