Narrative:

En route to photo site near tol, oh. I am aware of the restr area which overlaps R-5502A. The 'a' area is from the surface to 5000 ft MSL and the 'B' area extends out further from shore and goes to FL230. I was briefed that the 'a' area was hot but did not receive the information on the 'B' area. I took a route just outside of the 'a' area but in the 'B' area. Upon contacting the tol class C approach control for help with our photo line runs inside of their airspace, I was informed that the 'B' area was hot. I am not aware of any conflicts or problems my transgression may have caused, but I am aware that there might have been a problem with being shot down! These areas are for camp perry and are the impact area for rifle shooting (a) and cannon shooting (B). Needless to say, I will make sure in the future that I check for both areas in the briefing. This could have been a tragic end to a beautiful day. One of the first we've had in over a week. I took a shortcut that was to save time en route to a photo spot since we are limited to XA00 am to XB00 pm for our photos. Never again!
