Narrative:
Incorrect MEL placard on item that is non MEL placardable. In the future will verify maintenance control MEL placard manual number with referenced discrepancy. No parts in stock; I called tech services for technical advice. Tech told me to placard per MEL. I later realized this is an incorrect placard.
