Narrative:

Inherited aircraft from ZZZ inbound flight. Warm brakes during cockpit setup. Taxi out (single engine) into position on runway 25R. 1 brake exceeded 300 degrees. Taxied clear of runway onto parallel. Brake temperature continued to increase. Asked tower to taxi onto and down runway to attempt to circulate air around brakes. Used differential braking to stay off left brake set. Circled runway/taxiway twice. Then increase in right set of brakes (550 degrees maximum on #4). Returned to gate. Chocked aircraft. All 4 brake's temperatures excessive. Asked for fans, none available from local operations. Fire department had fans. Contacted maintenance controller to advise. Was informed no procedure in airbus maintenance manual allowing use of fans for cooling. Brake temperatures cooled after 1+ hour situation. Ready to push for second time, 2 tires went flat. Flight attendants timed out. Local maintenance manual had 2 replacement tires but had faulty jack and unqualified personnel to change tires. Net result: a great number of misconnections and ill will fostered by lack of proper equipment to cool brakes at station. Outside air temperature only 33 degrees C in las. Would be getting much hotter. We received aircraft late with only about 35 min turn and warm brakes to start with. Las taxi from gates to runways 25A is downhill run. This problem is going to recur all summer in den/las/phx with our fleet.

Title: AN AIRBUS 320 CAPT RPTS PROBS WITH OVERHEATED BRAKES AT HIGH TEMP ARPT AND SHORT TURN TIMES CAUSING FLT CANCELLATIONS.

Narrative: INHERITED ACFT FROM ZZZ INBOUND FLT. WARM BRAKES DURING COCKPIT SETUP. TAXI OUT (SINGLE ENG) INTO POS ON RWY 25R. 1 BRAKE EXCEEDED 300 DEGS. TAXIED CLR OF RWY ONTO PARALLEL. BRAKE TEMP CONTINUED TO INCREASE. ASKED TWR TO TAXI ONTO AND DOWN RWY TO ATTEMPT TO CIRCULATE AIR AROUND BRAKES. USED DIFFERENTIAL BRAKING TO STAY OFF L BRAKE SET. CIRCLED RWY/TXWY TWICE. THEN INCREASE IN R SET OF BRAKES (550 DEGS MAX ON #4). RETURNED TO GATE. CHOCKED ACFT. ALL 4 BRAKE'S TEMPS EXCESSIVE. ASKED FOR FANS, NONE AVAILABLE FROM LCL OPS. FIRE DEPT HAD FANS. CONTACTED MAINT CTLR TO ADVISE. WAS INFORMED NO PROC IN AIRBUS MAINT MANUAL ALLOWING USE OF FANS FOR COOLING. BRAKE TEMPS COOLED AFTER 1+ HR SIT. READY TO PUSH FOR SECOND TIME, 2 TIRES WENT FLAT. FLT ATTENDANTS TIMED OUT. LCL MAINT MANUAL HAD 2 REPLACEMENT TIRES BUT HAD FAULTY JACK AND UNQUALIFIED PERSONNEL TO CHANGE TIRES. NET RESULT: A GREAT NUMBER OF MISCONNECTIONS AND ILL WILL FOSTERED BY LACK OF PROPER EQUIP TO COOL BRAKES AT STATION. OUTSIDE AIR TEMP ONLY 33 DEGS C IN LAS. WOULD BE GETTING MUCH HOTTER. WE RECEIVED ACFT LATE WITH ONLY ABOUT 35 MIN TURN AND WARM BRAKES TO START WITH. LAS TAXI FROM GATES TO RWYS 25A IS DOWNHILL RUN. THIS PROB IS GOING TO RECUR ALL SUMMER IN DEN/LAS/PHX WITH OUR FLEET.
