Narrative:

On jul/xa/00, upon starting my work shift at XA00 hours, I was made aware that an air carrier quality assurance alert letter dated jun/xb/00 contained ambiguous statements, which I may have misinterped as allowing a mechanic to do tire confirmation back checks. I signed a confirmation back check on the #4 main landing gear tire on aircraft nose #xyz.
