Narrative:

Approach control asked us to state our airspeed. I responded with '250 KTS.' approach control instructed us to 'slow to class B airspeed and then descend to 4000 ft.' neither of us had realized we were below the floor of the class B airspace which was 8000 ft in this area. A quick check of the class B chart confirmed our error and airspeed excursion. We should have been at 200 KTS or below in areas underlying class B airspace. A review of class B airspace chart would have prevented the inadvertent airspeed excursion. Unfortunately this chart is not included with the atlanta pdk approach charts as we are utilizing the electronically generated charts. It is only printed with the atl hartsfield charts.

Title: C550 FLC EXCEEDS SPD LIMIT BELOW ATL CLASS B AIRSPACE.

Narrative: APCH CTL ASKED US TO STATE OUR AIRSPD. I RESPONDED WITH '250 KTS.' APCH CTL INSTRUCTED US TO 'SLOW TO CLASS B AIRSPD AND THEN DSND TO 4000 FT.' NEITHER OF US HAD REALIZED WE WERE BELOW THE FLOOR OF THE CLASS B AIRSPACE WHICH WAS 8000 FT IN THIS AREA. A QUICK CHK OF THE CLASS B CHART CONFIRMED OUR ERROR AND AIRSPD EXCURSION. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT 200 KTS OR BELOW IN AREAS UNDERLYING CLASS B AIRSPACE. A REVIEW OF CLASS B AIRSPACE CHART WOULD HAVE PREVENTED THE INADVERTENT AIRSPD EXCURSION. UNFORTUNATELY THIS CHART IS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE ATLANTA PDK APCH CHARTS AS WE ARE UTILIZING THE ELECTRONICALLY GENERATED CHARTS. IT IS ONLY PRINTED WITH THE ATL HARTSFIELD CHARTS.
