Narrative:

On takeoff received left duct leak EICAS message. Turned left engine bleed valve off. In-flight conferred with dispatch and maintenance regarding troubleshooting problem and alternate plans to avoid icing conditions at destination. Maintenance corrective procedure of left pack off and left engine bleed on worked temporarily, but left duct leak light recurred. We then diverted to sfo which was clear.
