Narrative:

On this flight from ewr to lax, we received a clearance (on the ground at ewr) that differed slightly from our flight plan. We did not catch the change and subsequently turned to an incorrect heading at etx VOR. ATC called this to our attention and we made the correction. As far as we know, air traffic separation was not compromised.

Title: HDG DEV. FLC FAILED TO NOTE A CLRNC CHANGE TO THEIR FLT PLAN AND TURNED TO AN INCORRECT HEADING AT AN ENRTE FIX. ATC INTERVENED AND PROVIDED A HEADING.

Narrative: ON THIS FLT FROM EWR TO LAX, WE RECEIVED A CLRNC (ON THE GND AT EWR) THAT DIFFERED SLIGHTLY FROM OUR FLT PLAN. WE DID NOT CATCH THE CHANGE AND SUBSEQUENTLY TURNED TO AN INCORRECT HEADING AT ETX VOR. ATC CALLED THIS TO OUR ATTN AND WE MADE THE CORRECTION. AS FAR AS WE KNOW, AIR TFC SEPARATION WAS NOT COMPROMISED.
