Following a clearance direct okk, ZID switched the flight to 126.32. Upon checking in, we were given a clearance to cross 60 mi southwest of knox at 16000 ft. Captain asked for clearance direct knox, and controller stated we were already given direct knox. We stated no clearance had been received to which controller replied he didn't have time to argue with us. Neither crew member heard a clearance to knox.
