Narrative:

The reporter is unfamiliar with the new terminal location. The frequency is congested and not hearing what the taxi instructions are relies on the copilot who felt he was familiar with the new location and knew what the controller intended. It was night, the frequency was congested and the ramps and txwys and charts are confusing. The end result was the reporter taxied without clearance to a point where he was nose to nose with 1 of his company aircraft and had to be towed out of the predicament.
