Narrative:

I was waiting to taxi behind a twin small transport Y. The twin was cleared to cross runway and taxi to end. I called ground for clearance to taxi. The next transmission was 'follow twin small transport Y to runway 36R'. I replied with my call sign and followed the small transport Y across the runway. At that point ground control replied that the clearance to follow the twin was for another aircraft. At the time of occurrence traffic was extremely busy and it was hard to get a word in edgewise. Evidently I was transmitting over part of the ground controllers instructions to another aircraft and only received the 'follow the twin smy Y'. I feel the controller should have said the clearance was for someone else when I replied with my call sign.
