Narrative:
After clearing the runway 36R at tpa I changed to ground and advised I was clear the runway to hangar 1. Ground answered, 'small transport taxi to hangar 1.' to the best of my knowledge I replied, 'small transport, roger.' after shutdown I was asked to call the tower. I talked to a man named mr. T. He asked if I was on a test flight and I said I was, and advised I was flying with a german pilot who is buying the aircraft. Mr. T said he told me to hold short of runway 27. My comment was that I didn't hear that transmission. Mr. T told me that another aircraft was touching down when I crossed the runway approximately 4000' down the runway from the T/D zone. I could have missed the call, however I always try to read back all taxi clrncs if other than normal. I feel that the controller could have been more observant of what I was doing since I did not read back to hold short. In the future I will be more aware when crossing active runways. I am a very conscientious pilot and I guess it could happen to anyone.

Title: GA SMT UNAUTH RWY CROSSING AFTER LNDG AT TPA.
Narrative: AFTER CLRING THE RWY 36R AT TPA I CHANGED TO GND AND ADVISED I WAS CLR THE RWY TO HANGAR 1. GND ANSWERED, 'SMT TAXI TO HANGAR 1.' TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE I REPLIED, 'SMT, ROGER.' AFTER SHUTDOWN I WAS ASKED TO CALL THE TWR. I TALKED TO A MAN NAMED MR. T. HE ASKED IF I WAS ON A TEST FLT AND I SAID I WAS, AND ADVISED I WAS FLYING WITH A GERMAN PLT WHO IS BUYING THE ACFT. MR. T SAID HE TOLD ME TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 27. MY COMMENT WAS THAT I DIDN'T HEAR THAT XMISSION. MR. T TOLD ME THAT ANOTHER ACFT WAS TOUCHING DOWN WHEN I CROSSED THE RWY APPROX 4000' DOWN THE RWY FROM THE T/D ZONE. I COULD HAVE MISSED THE CALL, HOWEVER I ALWAYS TRY TO READ BACK ALL TAXI CLRNCS IF OTHER THAN NORMAL. I FEEL THAT THE CTLR COULD HAVE BEEN MORE OBSERVANT OF WHAT I WAS DOING SINCE I DID NOT READ BACK TO HOLD SHORT. IN THE FUTURE I WILL BE MORE AWARE WHEN XING ACTIVE RWYS. I AM A VERY CONSCIENTIOUS PLT AND I GUESS IT COULD HAPPEN TO ANYONE.
