Narrative:

Cleared visibility approach to runway 17L at den. Winds approximately 210 at 6K with low level wind shear warning given prior to switching to tower and turning base to final inside of marker. Cleared to land and given winds of 310/15. I questioned LLWS and was told 'none on the airport' both the copilot and I felt the tailwind was no more than 10 KTS and felt it was safe to land. After parking at gate we checked the chart and found the crosswind 10 KTS and the tailwind was 12 KTS, 2 KTS over maximum. A quick decision had to be made. 'By the book' it was wrong, even though the copilot made a picture perfect approach, T/D, and roll out.
