Narrative:
I believe I flew 3 legs of flight for a major carrier when I had run out of currency on the aircraft. For my 6TH month currency (proficiency check) my due month is july and my grace month was august. On jul/xx/89, I took a proficiency check in the heavy transport. I had been flying captain on the heavy transport, however, on the sat of july, I not longer could hold that position and I moved back down to fly the large transport. I questioned scheduling about taking the july check ride on the heavy transport and was assured that I would still be current on the large transport because a 6 month check on one would extend the currency on the other (company operations specification). I satisfactorily passed the heavy transport 6 month check with a company check airman and the FAA observing. On sep/xx/89 while passing through msp on my 'trip' (flying the large transport), I was taken off the flight and told by the training department that I needed a 6 month proficiency check on the large transport. If that is correct then I was out of currency for my flts on the large transport earlier in sep.

Title: PIC OF ACR LGT FLEW SEVERAL FLTS AFTER HIS ACFT PROFICIENCY CHECK HAD EXPIRED.
Narrative: I BELIEVE I FLEW 3 LEGS OF FLT FOR A MAJOR CARRIER WHEN I HAD RUN OUT OF CURRENCY ON THE ACFT. FOR MY 6TH MONTH CURRENCY (PROFICIENCY CHECK) MY DUE MONTH IS JULY AND MY GRACE MONTH WAS AUGUST. ON JUL/XX/89, I TOOK A PROFICIENCY CHECK IN THE HVT. I HAD BEEN FLYING CAPT ON THE HVT, HOWEVER, ON THE SAT OF JULY, I NOT LONGER COULD HOLD THAT POSITION AND I MOVED BACK DOWN TO FLY THE LGT. I QUESTIONED SCHEDULING ABOUT TAKING THE JULY CHECK RIDE ON THE HVT AND WAS ASSURED THAT I WOULD STILL BE CURRENT ON THE LGT BECAUSE A 6 MONTH CHECK ON ONE WOULD EXTEND THE CURRENCY ON THE OTHER (COMPANY OPERATIONS SPEC). I SATISFACTORILY PASSED THE HVT 6 MONTH CHECK WITH A COMPANY CHECK AIRMAN AND THE FAA OBSERVING. ON SEP/XX/89 WHILE PASSING THROUGH MSP ON MY 'TRIP' (FLYING THE LGT), I WAS TAKEN OFF THE FLT AND TOLD BY THE TRAINING DEPT THAT I NEEDED A 6 MONTH PROFICIENCY CHECK ON THE LGT. IF THAT IS CORRECT THEN I WAS OUT OF CURRENCY FOR MY FLTS ON THE LGT EARLIER IN SEP.
