Narrative:

On climb out from iad; the captain was flying and lost data on his pfd; accompanied by a navigation adr #1 failure indication on the ECAM. The captain instructed the first officer to fly while he ran the ECAM. We requested FL280 for rvsm airspace considerations. We contacted maintenance/dispatch. Maintenance indicated with an adr #1 failure in-flight that there was no further action besides the ECAM/checklist that could be accomplished. We determined with dispatch that the flight could continue to ZZZ at FL280 and land with an appropriate amount of fuel. Upon further investigation; it was noted that the ir #1 was in the off position. Maintenance and dispatch were updated with our findings. The flight continued to ZZZ and landed without further incident.
