Narrative:

Purser made the arming announcement after the jetway was pulled from aircraft to arm doors; which was completed. Then we proceeded to our assigned demonstration position. While standing in our demonstration position; the flight deck called 1L. I was walking towards the front of the aircraft to see when the demonstration was going to start; so I answered the phone from the forward jumpseat. The captain advised that maintenance was going to enter through 2L. As I turned to go back to the door; I noticed the door had already been opened; and I started running to the back. When I arrived at 2L; I noticed the slide pack was on the galley floor. I immediately put all my weight on the door handle to stop the maintenance personnel from opening the door. At this point; the slide had come approximately 1/2 way out of the door pan cover. I got on the PA and called another flight attendant to the rear of the aircraft. As he held the handle; I told the mechanic to come to 2R; and I disarmed and cracked the 2R door. Maintenance took over the situation. (Slide did not inflate.) slide was repacked and we proceeded on.
