Narrative:

I was the captain on flight. WX at the time of the attempted takeoff was cavok. It was the first officer's takeoff; we had just set takeoff power; released the brakes and very shortly thereafter; the 'right generator drive' light EICAS message illuminated. I announced the 'abort;' assumed control of the aircraft at approximately 30 KIAS and completed the abort maneuver. The first officer notified the control tower of our abort and our intentions to return to the gate and that no emergency assistance was required. Upon reaching the gate; I was informed by the mechanic that a tire on the right truck was 'fodded' and needed replacement as well as the right idg being 2 quarts low on oil. No other fault messages concerning the idg were stored. The right idg was placarded inoperative; I contacted the dispatcher and obtained a new release for 120 min ETOPS; with the commensurate additional fuel required for continuous APU usage on the flight. After the maintenance items were completed and a new release obtained; we departed; disconnected the idg after engine start per MEL; and continued without incident.
