Narrative:

Late show after minimum layover after late arrival previous night. Then delayed 2 hours for edct to ord. During taxi out to made edct; no final weights. Made multiple phone calls to get weights and save edct (tower said if we missed it to anticipate another lengthy delay). Finally got weights and barely made edct. After takeoff; flight attendants called and said that they were not strapped in for takeoff because we did not give the 'prepare for takeoff;' announcement.

Title: A B737-300 CREW UNDER PRESSURE TO MAKE SLOT TIME TOOK OFF WITHOUT GIVING THE 'PREPARE FOR TKOF' ANNOUNCEMENT TO THE FLT ATTENDANTS WHO WERE STILL IN THE AISLE.

Narrative: LATE SHOW AFTER MINIMUM LAYOVER AFTER LATE ARR PREVIOUS NIGHT. THEN DELAYED 2 HRS FOR EDCT TO ORD. DURING TAXI OUT TO MADE EDCT; NO FINAL WTS. MADE MULTIPLE PHONE CALLS TO GET WTS AND SAVE EDCT (TWR SAID IF WE MISSED IT TO ANTICIPATE ANOTHER LENGTHY DELAY). FINALLY GOT WTS AND BARELY MADE EDCT. AFTER TKOF; FLT ATTENDANTS CALLED AND SAID THAT THEY WERE NOT STRAPPED IN FOR TKOF BECAUSE WE DID NOT GIVE THE 'PREPARE FOR TKOF;' ANNOUNCEMENT.
