Narrative:

During cruise; the #1 flight attendant informed me that a passenger was ill. A female passenger was having trouble breathing. A doctor was paged and examined the passenger. The doctor said the passenger had a history of various medical problems and was in respiratory distress. Oxygen was given to the passenger. When we switched to approach control; we declared an emergency. We also called for paramedics to meet the aircraft. Approach and landing were normal.

Title: A300 AIRBUS FLT CREW HAS AN ILL PAX; DECLARES EMER AND LANDS.

Narrative: DURING CRUISE; THE #1 FLT ATTENDANT INFORMED ME THAT A PAX WAS ILL. A FEMALE PAX WAS HAVING TROUBLE BREATHING. A DOCTOR WAS PAGED AND EXAMINED THE PAX. THE DOCTOR SAID THE PAX HAD A HISTORY OF VARIOUS MEDICAL PROBS AND WAS IN RESPIRATORY DISTRESS. OXYGEN WAS GIVEN TO THE PAX. WHEN WE SWITCHED TO APCH CTL; WE DECLARED AN EMER. WE ALSO CALLED FOR PARAMEDICS TO MEET THE ACFT. APCH AND LNDG WERE NORMAL.
