Narrative:

After normal landing runway 28R at sfo; tower advised us to expedite across runway 28L on taxiway T. As we crossed the hold short line for runway 28L at 25 KTS (maximum taxi speed); the tower instructed us to hold short runway 28L. It was impossible as now we had already crossed the hold short line and we were traveling at a speed which at maximum effort would have stopped us in the middle of the runway. We advised the tower we were already across the hold short line and continued across the runway as it appeared the safest course of action. The tower gave go around instructions to the aircraft landing runway 28L. After contacting ground; we re-contacted tower; however; a new controller was now on station and didn't know anything about it.

Title: B777 LNDG SFO RWY 28R IS CLRED ACROSS RWY 28L BUT THEN TOLD TO HOLD SHORT AFTER ACFT HAD ALREADY PASSED HOLD LINE. ACFT ON FINAL ISSUED GAR.

Narrative: AFTER NORMAL LNDG RWY 28R AT SFO; TWR ADVISED US TO EXPEDITE ACROSS RWY 28L ON TXWY T. AS WE CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE FOR RWY 28L AT 25 KTS (MAX TAXI SPD); THE TWR INSTRUCTED US TO HOLD SHORT RWY 28L. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE AS NOW WE HAD ALREADY CROSSED THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND WE WERE TRAVELING AT A SPD WHICH AT MAX EFFORT WOULD HAVE STOPPED US IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RWY. WE ADVISED THE TWR WE WERE ALREADY ACROSS THE HOLD SHORT LINE AND CONTINUED ACROSS THE RWY AS IT APPEARED THE SAFEST COURSE OF ACTION. THE TWR GAVE GAR INSTRUCTIONS TO THE ACFT LNDG RWY 28L. AFTER CONTACTING GND; WE RE-CONTACTED TWR; HOWEVER; A NEW CTLR WAS NOW ON STATION AND DIDN'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
