Narrative:

King air landed on runway 11. FA50; position and hold runway 11. King air told to turn left at the reverse taxiway and taxi to the ramp. King air observed making the reverse taxiway and the FA50 was cleared for takeoff. King air apparently got confused and turned around too far and back onto runway 11. He reported after hearing takeoff clearance of FA50 that he was on the runway. FA50 takeoff was aborted after they rolled approximately 800-1000 ft. To prevent this from occurring at night there should be: 1) lead-off lighting from runway onto txwys. 2) reference lighting that can be seen from the tower to determine if aircraft are indeed clear of the runway. 3) in lieu of reference light; ground radar or a verbal report from the pilot as parallax and depth perception at night is a detriment.

Title: CAE CTLR ISSUED ABORT TO FA50 DEP AFTER LNDG BE90; EXITING RWY ON REVERSE HIGH SPD; RE-ENTERED RWY.

Narrative: KING AIR LANDED ON RWY 11. FA50; POS AND HOLD RWY 11. KING AIR TOLD TO TURN L AT THE REVERSE TXWY AND TAXI TO THE RAMP. KING AIR OBSERVED MAKING THE REVERSE TXWY AND THE FA50 WAS CLRED FOR TKOF. KING AIR APPARENTLY GOT CONFUSED AND TURNED AROUND TOO FAR AND BACK ONTO RWY 11. HE RPTED AFTER HEARING TKOF CLRNC OF FA50 THAT HE WAS ON THE RWY. FA50 TKOF WAS ABORTED AFTER THEY ROLLED APPROX 800-1000 FT. TO PREVENT THIS FROM OCCURRING AT NIGHT THERE SHOULD BE: 1) LEAD-OFF LIGHTING FROM RWY ONTO TXWYS. 2) REF LIGHTING THAT CAN BE SEEN FROM THE TWR TO DETERMINE IF ACFT ARE INDEED CLR OF THE RWY. 3) IN LIEU OF REF LIGHT; GND RADAR OR A VERBAL RPT FROM THE PLT AS PARALLAX AND DEPTH PERCEPTION AT NIGHT IS A DETRIMENT.
