Narrative:
A pilot reported #1 engine electrical power meters were not operating properly. I replaced the electrical power meters' panel in the cockpit. Ran #1 engine to test electrical power for proper operational test was good, entered action in the logbook. The panel I installed was not eligible for aircraft. I did not refer to catalog.

Title: A B737-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH THE INCORRECT OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL PWR METERS INSTALLED.
Narrative: A PLT RPTED #1 ENG ELECTRICAL PWR METERS WERE NOT OPERATING PROPERLY. I REPLACED THE ELECTRICAL PWR METERS' PANEL IN THE COCKPIT. RAN #1 ENG TO TEST ELECTRICAL PWR FOR PROPER OPERATIONAL TEST WAS GOOD, ENTERED ACTION IN THE LOGBOOK. THE PANEL I INSTALLED WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR ACFT. I DID NOT REFER TO CATALOG.
