Narrative:

Departing phx on the silow 1 departure, ATC assigned us 10000 ft and cleared us direct to the thomm intersection. Shortly thereafter, ATC called traffic at 2 O'clock position, VFR at 10500 ft. Both the first officer and myself spotted the traffic. The first officer called ATC and reported 'traffic in sight' 20-30 seconds later, we received a TCASII warning followed by a TCASII RA. I complied with the vsi indication until I heard 'clear of conflict.' maximum altitude deviation was 200 ft (10000 ft to 9800 ft). I then climbed back to the assigned altitude of 10000 ft.
