Narrative:

While descending to FL270 on the mosey arrival into cvg, the TCASII squawked 'traffic, traffic, traffic.' at FL277, we were north the clouds and a look at the TCASII display showed a yellow target directly ahead, 700 ft below us, at our descent clearance altitude. I announced 'raise the nose, level off, stop descent' so we could avoid and identify the target. The first officer disconnected the autoplt and quickly leveled the aircraft. After a thorough examination of the TCASII display and a check with ATC (there was also an aircraft directly below us at FL260) we resumed our descent. Because our response was very rapid, one of the flight attendants in the aft galley was injured breaking her ankle.

Narrative: WHILE DSNDING TO FL270 ON THE MOSEY ARR INTO CVG, THE TCASII SQUAWKED 'TFC, TFC, TFC.' AT FL277, WE WERE N THE CLOUDS AND A LOOK AT THE TCASII DISPLAY SHOWED A YELLOW TARGET DIRECTLY AHEAD, 700 FT BELOW US, AT OUR DSCNT CLRNC ALT. I ANNOUNCED 'RAISE THE NOSE, LEVEL OFF, STOP DSCNT' SO WE COULD AVOID AND IDENT THE TARGET. THE FO DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT AND QUICKLY LEVELED THE ACFT. AFTER A THOROUGH EXAM OF THE TCASII DISPLAY AND A CHK WITH ATC (THERE WAS ALSO AN ACFT DIRECTLY BELOW US AT FL260) WE RESUMED OUR DSCNT.
