Narrative:
After a smooth landing in XXX, the oxygen mask in seat X dropped down. After passenger deplaned, we ensured that the lanyards had not been pulled, and re-stowed the masks. We departed for ZZZ on flight # XXX. After discussion with maintenance in ZZZ1, we were told it was an open discrepancy and required a logbook entry. I made the logbook entry and maintenance properly deferred the masks and blocked that row. Supplemental information from acn 549091: I inspected and re-stowed them, unaware that it required a logbook entry. The masks were inspected and re-stowed by maintenance and we were released with the appropriate MEL.

THE MASKS WERE INSPECTED AND RE-STOWED BY MAINT AND WE WERE RELEASED WITH THE APPROPRIATE MEL.
