Narrative:

Taxied to runway 8. Listened to purser finish PA. Started to make takeoff PA. Immediately realized I was on ATC. Made a comment that got first officer's attention. He watched me select PA and make takeoff PA. It sounded like it sent through ok to me. After another min or 2, landing traffic cleared runway and we were cleared for takeoff. I made takeoff chime and we departed. Later it was reported to me that takeoff PA was not heard in back. Some of the flight attendants were not seated as we began takeoff roll. Apparently flight attendant #4 fell as he tried to reach his seat. Do not know how to prevent this situation other than changing procedure to call purser to insure takeoff PA was heard prior to taking off.
