Narrative:

Aircraft had an MEL placard for brake inoperative (#6). Received an amended release from dispatch for the MEL. However, during push back maintenance control decided to correct the problem. After 1 hour 10 mins after scheduled departure time. Maintenance clears the brake problem and asks crew to remove placard. Flight departed ZZZ. Finally after takeoff, received a message from dispatch that they weren't notified about the placard being removed from maintenance control to issue another amended release. Return release on flight ZZZ-ZZZ1 still has MEL on, had to call dispatch for a verbal amended release.

Title: A B757-200 WAS DISPATCHED IN NON COMPLIANCE WITH #6 BRAKE DEFERRED ITEM REPAIRED BUT NOT CLRED ON MAINT RELEASE, DISPATCH OR PLACARD REMOVED.

Narrative: ACFT HAD AN MEL PLACARD FOR BRAKE INOP (#6). RECEIVED AN AMENDED RELEASE FROM DISPATCH FOR THE MEL. HOWEVER, DURING PUSH BACK MAINT CTL DECIDED TO CORRECT THE PROB. AFTER 1 HR 10 MINS AFTER SCHEDULED DEP TIME. MAINT CLRS THE BRAKE PROB AND ASKS CREW TO REMOVE PLACARD. FLT DEPARTED ZZZ. FINALLY AFTER TKOF, RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM DISPATCH THAT THEY WEREN'T NOTIFIED ABOUT THE PLACARD BEING REMOVED FROM MAINT CTL TO ISSUE ANOTHER AMENDED RELEASE. RETURN RELEASE ON FLT ZZZ-ZZZ1 STILL HAS MEL ON, HAD TO CALL DISPATCH FOR A VERBAL AMENDED RELEASE.
