Narrative:

While in cruise off airways (vectors) ATC requested a turn of 10 degrees, I started a turn of 10 degrees on the autoplt. Bank angle limiter was in automatic (15 degrees). Controller asked for more turn of 20 degrees additional. I increase heading to left, another 20 degrees and aircraft was slowly entering turn. Controller asked for immediate turn left of 90 degrees and I kicked off autoplt and increased rate. Captain took control of aircraft and rapidly turned to 30 degree bank. Approximately the time we had gone through 40 degrees of turn the controller then cleared us direct to destination (pdx). We saw no TCASII alerts or other aircraft at FL350. Another aircraft was near at FL330. Controller did not mention cause of problem.

Title: CTLR REQUESTS A TURN. RATE OF TURN IS NOT ENOUGH SO HE REQUESTS MORE. STILL NOT ENOUGH AND A LOT IS REQUESTED. CREW DISCONNECTS AUTOFLT TO COMPLY. NO REASON FOR THE TURNS GIVEN.

Narrative: WHILE IN CRUISE OFF AIRWAYS (VECTORS) ATC REQUESTED A TURN OF 10 DEGS, I STARTED A TURN OF 10 DEGS ON THE AUTOPLT. BANK ANGLE LIMITER WAS IN AUTO (15 DEGS). CTLR ASKED FOR MORE TURN OF 20 DEGS ADDITIONAL. I INCREASE HEADING TO L, ANOTHER 20 DEGS AND ACFT WAS SLOWLY ENTERING TURN. CTLR ASKED FOR IMMEDIATE TURN L OF 90 DEGS AND I KICKED OFF AUTOPLT AND INCREASED RATE. CAPT TOOK CTL OF ACFT AND RAPIDLY TURNED TO 30 DEG BANK. APPROX THE TIME WE HAD GONE THROUGH 40 DEGS OF TURN THE CTLR THEN CLRED US DIRECT TO DEST (PDX). WE SAW NO TCASII ALERTS OR OTHER ACFT AT FL350. ANOTHER ACFT WAS NEAR AT FL330. CTLR DID NOT MENTION CAUSE OF PROB.
