Narrative:
While performing a layover inspection on aircraft xyz at gate yx in ZZZ and doing my walkaround check of the exterior of aircraft, I failed to notice a crack in the VHF antenna, forward lower. Also on the walkaround, I failed to notice the aft fairing strut access door recessed in about 1/4 inch on the back end.
