Narrative:

The sun was low with haze and some smoke. Few clouds, bases 3000 ft. I was heading north, maneuvering to approach runway 32, tvi at a 45 degree entry. I heard a plane call 'taking active runway 32' but didn't pay much attention. I suddenly saw a light twin on a southwest course about 1 mi away at about my altitude. I quickly rolled right and pulled hard. He saw me, rolled to his right and seemed to dive slightly. We passed about 500 ft horizontal. 100 ft vertical. I should have called 10 mi out and again when I heard his transmission. The sun was in his eyes and the haze made spotting me difficult.
