Narrative:

In my opinion the local airport advisory service provided by cedar city automated flight service station is unsatisfactory. The in-flight position provides the local airport advisory service at cedar city in addition to the other normal in-flight duties (in-flight briefings, activation and closing of flight plans, relay of ATC clrncs) for many other airports in the state of utah. There are no windows at the in-flight position therefore the specialist is unable to see the airport surface and surrounding airspace. A WX observation deck with windows and the local airport advisory frequencys is available for use, but due to limited staffing is seldom used. In my opinion more personnel need to be assigned to cedar city automated flight service station to properly and safely perform the airport advisory service or the service should be discontinued.

Narrative: IN MY OPINION THE LCL ARPT ADVISORY SVC PROVIDED BY CEDAR CITY AUTOMATED FLT SVC STATION IS UNSATISFACTORY. THE INFLT POS PROVIDES THE LCL ARPT ADVISORY SVC AT CEDAR CITY IN ADDITION TO THE OTHER NORMAL INFLT DUTIES (INFLT BRIEFINGS, ACTIVATION AND CLOSING OF FLT PLANS, RELAY OF ATC CLRNCS) FOR MANY OTHER ARPTS IN THE STATE OF UTAH. THERE ARE NO WINDOWS AT THE INFLT POS THEREFORE THE SPECIALIST IS UNABLE TO SEE THE ARPT SURFACE AND SURROUNDING AIRSPACE. A WX OBSERVATION DECK WITH WINDOWS AND THE LCL ARPT ADVISORY FREQS IS AVAILABLE FOR USE, BUT DUE TO LIMITED STAFFING IS SELDOM USED. IN MY OPINION MORE PERSONNEL NEED TO BE ASSIGNED TO CEDAR CITY AUTOMATED FLT SVC STATION TO PROPERLY AND SAFELY PERFORM THE ARPT ADVISORY SVC OR THE SVC SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED.
