Narrative:

Cleared for ILS runway 1L approach to ict. Then cleared visual to ict runway 1L. Both ILS tuned and DME and ADF appeared accurate. Lined aircraft towards mcconnell AFB runway 1. Realized runway layout at mcconnell was different from diagram for ict, when ATC instructed us to take a 270 degree heading for ict and climb to 3000 ft. We picked up ict and landed visually without incident. Recommendation for our air carrier to show on approach chart page 10-10 a warning regarding ict's close proximity to mcconnell AFB. Good job to ATC for correcting a potentially embarrassing situation.

Title: AN ACR B727 FREIGHTER FLC LINE UP ON THE WRONG ARPT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD THE CORRECT ILS FREQ IN THEIR NAV RADIOS AND THE PROPER APCH CHARTS SELECTED. THE ALERT APCH CTLR TOOK TIMELY CORRECTIVE ACTION.

Narrative: CLRED FOR ILS RWY 1L APCH TO ICT. THEN CLRED VISUAL TO ICT RWY 1L. BOTH ILS TUNED AND DME AND ADF APPEARED ACCURATE. LINED ACFT TOWARDS MCCONNELL AFB RWY 1. REALIZED RWY LAYOUT AT MCCONNELL WAS DIFFERENT FROM DIAGRAM FOR ICT, WHEN ATC INSTRUCTED US TO TAKE A 270 DEG HDG FOR ICT AND CLB TO 3000 FT. WE PICKED UP ICT AND LANDED VISUALLY WITHOUT INCIDENT. RECOMMENDATION FOR OUR ACR TO SHOW ON APCH CHART PAGE 10-10 A WARNING REGARDING ICT'S CLOSE PROX TO MCCONNELL AFB. GOOD JOB TO ATC FOR CORRECTING A POTENTIALLY EMBARRASSING SIT.
