Narrative:

On takeoff roll at about 90 KTS we heard a loud bang followed by the aircraft swerving. I saw a flickering of an EPR gauge. We aborted. The abort was uneventful. On takeoff roll, we did notice that the left engine was running hotter than the right, but still in the normal range. All starting indications were normal. After returning to the gate, maintenance found metal shavings in the tailpipe.
