Narrative:

At #3 for takeoff a fuel boost pump circuit breaker popped. I had the so reference our restrs manual (MEL) and call dispatch. Dispatch said we could go and the so said we were ok, so I took off. Later I reviewed the MEL and saw a minimum fuel requirement. We were legal, but not by much. Shortly, our dispatcher called and suggested we return to atl for gas (we decided on mem). To my knowledge, we didn't violate anything, but this is a good human factors case. I should have reviewed the MEL and maybe I'd have saved an embarrassing in-flight diversion. The so and dispatcher both should have taken their time and verbalized their thoughts. P.south. We were already way late with several broken items and unusual procedures (doesn't this sound familiar)!
