Narrative:

Took off from sna. Flew in controled airspace. Returned to sna. Experienced gear extension problem. Manually extended gear. Verified green extension plus visual of both main wheels. During final stage of landing roll nose gear collapsed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the airplane had a previous history of gear problems, nose gear shimmy, gear won't extend normally and must be extended manually. It was necessary to manually extend the landing gear the day prior to this incident. The reporter does not know if any work was done on the gear after this earlier incident. The reporter has no knowledge of any work done on the landing gear system after the nose gear collapsed. The reporter was contacted by the FAA.

Title: A C182RG EXPERIENCED THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSE ON LNDG ROLLOUT.

Narrative: TOOK OFF FROM SNA. FLEW IN CTLED AIRSPACE. RETURNED TO SNA. EXPERIENCED GEAR EXTENSION PROB. MANUALLY EXTENDED GEAR. VERIFIED GREEN EXTENSION PLUS VISUAL OF BOTH MAIN WHEELS. DURING FINAL STAGE OF LNDG ROLL NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE AIRPLANE HAD A PREVIOUS HISTORY OF GEAR PROBS, NOSE GEAR SHIMMY, GEAR WON'T EXTEND NORMALLY AND MUST BE EXTENDED MANUALLY. IT WAS NECESSARY TO MANUALLY EXTEND THE LNDG GEAR THE DAY PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. THE RPTR DOES NOT KNOW IF ANY WORK WAS DONE ON THE GEAR AFTER THIS EARLIER INCIDENT. THE RPTR HAS NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY WORK DONE ON THE LNDG GEAR SYS AFTER THE NOSE GEAR COLLAPSED. THE RPTR WAS CONTACTED BY THE FAA.
