Narrative:

Preflight inspection by both crew members indicated aircraft needed to be deiced. The aircraft was deiced, with special attention given to the gear wheel wells. Upon departing runway 26, the nose gear failed to retract, and a landing was made without incident back to the airport. We felt the gear problem was due to snow and slush slung into wheelwells during our taxi and takeoff roll. An emergency was not declared since the gear was indicating down and locked. Upon postflt inspection, the forward gear doors were found not latched.
