Narrative:

Both primary runways 4/22 and 12R/30L closed at hou, landed on runway 35. Tower cleared us to land and, as we began turning off runway, said to hold short of runway 30R, as we looked to see where runway 30R was we began to cross it. It doesn't look as if there is enough room to clear runway 35 and hold short of runway 30R. There is too much construction going on these days and the placement of the runways in this case causes confusion. Tower chief said they were having a problem with this intersection. There are no hold short lines for this runway. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter states that runway 4/22 is now open at hou. Hou ATCT states that this is correct, and that runway 12R/30L is scheduled to open nov/15/95. It seems that this problem has fixed itself. The reporter states that there was very little room between the runways. When he turned off of runway 35 at the end, he was now on both runways 17/35 and runways 12L/30R. The reporter is a check airman on the B737-200. Hou ATCT said that they had lots of trouble with this intersection while the construction was in progress. The reporter states that hou ATCT was not aware that there are no hold short lines on taxiway 'east' between runways 17 and 12L.
