Narrative:

Lax tower would not grant helicopter traffic to cross under their westerly takeoffs over the coast. I chose to fly back to santa monica then fly east to circumnavigate the class B airspace; as close as possible to save time on a compressed flight schedule. After making a call on 123.025 on my position and direction of flight I spotted one other helicopter traffic off my nose at about 5 miles and 500 feet making high angle of bank (aob) right hand orbiting turns. As our distance from one another closed his orbit shifted further south toward my position. I continued to veer to the right attempting to turn away from his right hand orbit. As our distance closed it became necessary to take evasive action and we both were forced to make large right hand turns to avoid a 'close call'. As I rolled wings level to get back on course and get eyes on the other aircraft I looked at my position on the GPS and realized I had just clipped the corner of class B airspace.in hindsight I should not have been flying an aircraft that close to controlled airspace to save time on a tight flight schedule. I should have corrected further north of the other helicopter when I first identified the traffic to avoid the air to air conflict and the airspace incursion.
