Narrative:

New service from msp to yyc. Dispatch filed route. Upon arrival mot, noticed our chart indicated no approved direct routing to yyn. Requested radar vector from ZMP to yyn. When handed off to winnipeg center, we advised them that we were on a radar vector to yyn. Dispatch was notified of the discrepancy in routing. They checked route and noted that route came from database not used by our aircraft type. They also advised that they were seeking approval for direct route between mot and yyn, and in the interim an airway route would be filed.
