Narrative:

I was the captain of air carrier X airlines flight xx from oak to sna. Aircraft was restr to mach .74 due to center bushing replacement. During descent (see location above), maintaining 300 KIAS, socal approach requested that we expedite over descent to 15000 ft MSL. In so doing, we accelerated to 330 KIAS (approximately). The FAA air carrier inspector in our jumpseat (mr yy from oak office) failed to bring that to our attention until after we had landed and were shut down at the gate.
