Narrative:

The maintenance facility had just competed extensive work on the tail section of a T-207A. The pilot completed a preflight, no problems noticed. Takeoff was initiated. Pilot noticed it was difficult to rotate. Became airborne and began to trim. The situation worsened. Takeoff was aborted and landing uneventful on remaining runway. Returned to maintenance. Maintenance personnel stated that trim cable was installed incorrectly and that it had come loose. It had wrapped itself around the elevator cables. No damage to aircraft.

Title: TKOF ABORTED. ACFT TRIM CABLE INSTALLED IMPROPERLY.

Narrative: THE MAINT FACILITY HAD JUST COMPETED EXTENSIVE WORK ON THE TAIL SECTION OF A T-207A. THE PLT COMPLETED A PREFLT, NO PROBS NOTICED. TKOF WAS INITIATED. PLT NOTICED IT WAS DIFFICULT TO ROTATE. BECAME AIRBORNE AND BEGAN TO TRIM. THE SIT WORSENED. TKOF WAS ABORTED AND LNDG UNEVENTFUL ON REMAINING RWY. RETURNED TO MAINT. MAINT PERSONNEL STATED THAT TRIM CABLE WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY AND THAT IT HAD COME LOOSE. IT HAD WRAPPED ITSELF AROUND THE ELEVATOR CABLES. NO DAMAGE TO ACFT.
