Narrative:

I was PF of flight bwi-rdg. Upon arriving in the rdg (reading, PA) area, we were cleared for a visual approach and cleared to land runway 31. Being VFR, I was concentrating my scan outside the aircraft, the approach and landing were uneventful. However, we landed runway 36 rather than runway 31. The winds were calm and there was no other conflicting traffic. I strongly feel this situation occurred due to our preoccupation with being ordered to extend our duty day in violation of our contract. We were to be terminated duty at XX20 in rdg, however we were ordered by our chief pilot to violate contract language which prevents being rescheduled beyond 2 hours of our scheduled time of termination. We had to ferry an aircraft from rdg to mdt, then ground transport (taxi) back to rdg (our crew base). This taxi ride took 1 hour and 10 min. This was the second consecutive night my duty was extended (all within FAA duty limits). What had myself and first officer angry was that we both live near the mdt airport and had to drive an additional hour to return home. Also, the first officer was scheduled for furlough at the end of the month, so this also was cause for distraction. Morale at the airline has been poor since the start of furloughs and may have some impact on crew coordination, alertness and failure to properly monitor all phases of flight.

Title: COMMUTER FLC LANDS WRONG RWY.

Narrative: I WAS PF OF FLT BWI-RDG. UPON ARRIVING IN THE RDG (READING, PA) AREA, WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH AND CLRED TO LAND RWY 31. BEING VFR, I WAS CONCENTRATING MY SCAN OUTSIDE THE ACFT, THE APCH AND LNDG WERE UNEVENTFUL. HOWEVER, WE LANDED RWY 36 RATHER THAN RWY 31. THE WINDS WERE CALM AND THERE WAS NO OTHER CONFLICTING TFC. I STRONGLY FEEL THIS SIT OCCURRED DUE TO OUR PREOCCUPATION WITH BEING ORDERED TO EXTEND OUR DUTY DAY IN VIOLATION OF OUR CONTRACT. WE WERE TO BE TERMINATED DUTY AT XX20 IN RDG, HOWEVER WE WERE ORDERED BY OUR CHIEF PLT TO VIOLATE CONTRACT LANGUAGE WHICH PREVENTS BEING RESCHEDULED BEYOND 2 HRS OF OUR SCHEDULED TIME OF TERMINATION. WE HAD TO FERRY AN ACFT FROM RDG TO MDT, THEN GND TRANSPORT (TAXI) BACK TO RDG (OUR CREW BASE). THIS TAXI RIDE TOOK 1 HR AND 10 MIN. THIS WAS THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE NIGHT MY DUTY WAS EXTENDED (ALL WITHIN FAA DUTY LIMITS). WHAT HAD MYSELF AND FO ANGRY WAS THAT WE BOTH LIVE NEAR THE MDT ARPT AND HAD TO DRIVE AN ADDITIONAL HR TO RETURN HOME. ALSO, THE FO WAS SCHEDULED FOR FURLOUGH AT THE END OF THE MONTH, SO THIS ALSO WAS CAUSE FOR DISTR. MORALE AT THE AIRLINE HAS BEEN POOR SINCE THE START OF FURLOUGHS AND MAY HAVE SOME IMPACT ON CREW COORD, ALERTNESS AND FAILURE TO PROPERLY MONITOR ALL PHASES OF FLT.
