Narrative:

Loaded 18 passenger and received all clear for start on #2 engine. After starting #2, gave gpu disconnect and pull chocks. Ramper acknowledged all clear for #1 start, I gave #1 start signal and verified #1 clear. Proceeded to start #1, then approximately 2 seconds into start, tug driver for gpu was heading towards #1 engine. Shut down #1, but gpu cart struck 3 propeller blades. Followed all checklists for before start to shutdown. Gpu tug driver's first day on job. Result: minor damage to propeller, will also give tug drivers plenty of room on starts.
