Narrative:

Right landing light contact with runway. Flew the approach (visual) into ogg. Winds 060/10 gusting 25 KTS. The approach was a bit of a rough ride though conditions in ogg are typically gusty. Flew through some moderate turbulence on 45 NM final then at about 400-500 ft MSL noticed a tailwind develop as the airspeed increased 15-20 KTS above reference plus 15 KTS (due to gusty conditions). Anticipating a wind shear I continued to monitor airspeed and EPR setting (which was below normal). At approximately 100-150 ft MSL the sink I anticipated developed so I caught it with power and continued. I strengthened the aircraft, crossing the threshold, with rudder and began a slight flare, maintaining a slight crab. Just before landing I reduced the throttles to idle and waited to land estimating about 5 ft to go. The left wing rapidly came up and the airspeed dropped (how much I don't know). It felt as though we just stopped flying and were 'shoved' down during landing. The right wing landing light (located under the wing) hit the runway and broke off as told to me by ground observers. We could not feel any impact from the cockpit nor did the cabin crew. The landing was harder than normal but not abnormally so. After taxiing to the ramp and parking I left the cockpit to inspect the wing feeling something may have happened. No wing damage found. Replaced the light fixture. The event occurred so rapidly I don't know if it could have been avoided in the landing phase.

Title: ACR MLG EXPERIENCES AN INFLT ENCOUNTER WITH LOW LEVEL WIND SHEAR ON LNDG PROC. TEMPORARY LOSS OF ACFT CTL, ACFT DAMAGED.

Narrative: R LNDG LIGHT CONTACT WITH RWY. FLEW THE APCH (VISUAL) INTO OGG. WINDS 060/10 GUSTING 25 KTS. THE APCH WAS A BIT OF A ROUGH RIDE THOUGH CONDITIONS IN OGG ARE TYPICALLY GUSTY. FLEW THROUGH SOME MODERATE TURB ON 45 NM FINAL THEN AT ABOUT 400-500 FT MSL NOTICED A TAILWIND DEVELOP AS THE AIRSPD INCREASED 15-20 KTS ABOVE REF PLUS 15 KTS (DUE TO GUSTY CONDITIONS). WE COULD NOT FEEL ANY IMPACT FROM THE COCKPIT NOR DID THE CABIN CREW. THE LNDG WAS HARDER THAN NORMAL BUT NOT ABNORMALLY SO. AFTER TAXIING TO THE RAMP AND PARKING I LEFT THE COCKPIT TO INSPECT THE WING FEELING SOMETHING MAY HAVE HAPPENED. NO WING DAMAGE FOUND. REPLACED THE LIGHT FIXTURE. THE EVENT OCCURRED SO RAPIDLY I DON'T KNOW IF IT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IN THE LNDG PHASE.
