Narrative:

I was transitioning through the class D surface area from 10 mi southwest of redding municipal to enterprise. Approximately 3 mi south of enterprise I was released from the tower frequency. I changed to enterprise CTAF (122.8). After testing and scanning visually I announced a final approach to runway 34 enterprise. 1 mi out on final I observed a cessna 172 crossing my path from west to east. I aircraft was at my same altitude approximately 400 ft or less ahead. I continued my approach and landed. Attempts to contact the aircraft on 122.8 and 122.25 met with negative results. 10 mins later at my tie down I heard the 172 identify and announce a spiral approach. He said that he thought he had his radio on 122.8 but did not. I dropped the matter. On to another day of flying.
