Narrative:

Assigned squawk and identify 25 northeast roc VOR at 4500 ft en route to and landing iag - passed north of roc westerly heading requested 2500 - told to descend at pilot's discretion. Approximately 15 mi northwest roc given traffic 10000 ft 5 mi responded no joy. At same time, 3-4 jumpers descended my 10-9 O'clock position within 50 ft. Roc reported no knowledge of jumpers away. Talked to radar watch supervisor by telephone and acknowledged traffic at 10000 was jump plane. However, said no radio contact with same. Very close, 3 degree heading to left would have ended casualties.
