Narrative:

This is not an event/situation, but a response or addendum to last callback 'ord pleads don't change frequency until instructed!' more often than not, at most airports, I'm given clearing and frequency instructions shortly after touchdown, while trying to decelerate, engines are in reverse (noisy!) and generally trying to corral the aircraft. I don't even try to hear local instructions until slowed, clearing, or cleared, then I'll have tower repeat instructions. Controllers need to realize what the pilots' priorities are during landing.

Title: AN ACR PLT COMPLAINS THAT ORD TWR OFTEN GIVES HIM INSTRUCTIONS WHILE HE IS ROLLING OUT AND FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE.

Narrative: THIS IS NOT AN EVENT/SIT, BUT A RESPONSE OR ADDENDUM TO LAST CALLBACK 'ORD PLEADS DON'T CHANGE FREQ UNTIL INSTRUCTED!' MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, AT MOST ARPTS, I'M GIVEN CLRING AND FREQ INSTRUCTIONS SHORTLY AFTER TOUCHDOWN, WHILE TRYING TO DECELERATE, ENGS ARE IN REVERSE (NOISY!) AND GENERALLY TRYING TO CORRAL THE ACFT. I DON'T EVEN TRY TO HEAR LCL INSTRUCTIONS UNTIL SLOWED, CLRING, OR CLRED, THEN I'LL HAVE TWR REPEAT INSTRUCTIONS. CTLRS NEED TO REALIZE WHAT THE PLTS' PRIORITIES ARE DURING LNDG.
