Narrative:
Flight check X en route from hilo to honolulu, hi. Landing clearance was received from honolulu tower to land on runway 4R (note: runway 4R is an intersecting runway with runway 8L). At no time prior to landing or during the landing did the controller issue a clearance for 'flight check X, hold short of runway 8L.' after landing, X taxied off of runway 4R via runway 8L. A question of separation arose due to the fact that a commuter air carrier Y had been cleared for takeoff for an intersection departure on runway 8L. This incident was an apparent result of miscom/lack of communication between the controller and X.

AT NO TIME PRIOR TO LNDG OR DURING THE LNDG DID THE CTLR ISSUE A CLRNC FOR 'FLT CHK X, HOLD SHORT OF RWY 8L.' AFTER LNDG, X TAXIED OFF OF RWY 4R VIA RWY 8L. A QUESTION OF SEPARATION AROSE DUE TO THE FACT THAT A COMMUTER ACR Y HAD BEEN CLRED FOR TKOF FOR AN INTXN DEP ON RWY 8L.
