Narrative:

Air carrier X departure and en route clearance issued hpn-ord by hpn clearance delivery included runway heading for vector to coate intersection and read back as such. This is a non standard departure. Usually a west chester SID is issued. Passenger boarding and other pre-departure duties caused me to overlook non standard clearance and I did not question clearance delivery. After takeoff, level at 4000 heading 160 degree ny departure control asked why we were not flying the 320 degree heading as part of the west chester SID. We stated we were cleared via runway heading and initiated a turn to 320 degree.
